Abstract
ABSTRACT
This research was conducted to investigate the proximate composition and the effect of dietary inclusion of graded levels if Andropogon tectoruni leaf meal on the performance of broiler finisher and the cost implication. A total of 60 broilers of 28 days old were used for the research. The birds were randomly design. Treatment were T: (0%), T: (2.5%), T. (5%), and Te (7.5%). Each treatment was replicated three times with 5 hirds per replicate summing up to 15 birds per treatment. Complete Randomized Design (CRD) was used for the experiment. Water and feed were given ad-libitum but the feed was weighed to determine feed Intake. The result of the proximate composition revealed that Andropogon tectorum leaf meal contained crude protein (6.55%), Ether extract (3.12%), Ash (6.73%), crude fiber (17.34%), moisture content (15.82%), carbohydrate (50.1%) and energy (660.12%). The result of the performance characteristic was taken. The average final body weight for the Ts group was significantly (P
