Abstract
ABSTRACT
This study focuses on the physiochemical analysis of water sources at the college of Agriculture science and technology (COAST) lafia and livestock complex in Nasarawa State, Nigeria.water quality was assessed through parameters including PH,electrical conductivity (EC), temperature, total dissolved solids (TDS),alkalinity, and dissolved oxygen (DO).field measurements and laboratory analyses followed established standards from the American public Health Association (APHA) and World Health Organization (WHO).Results indicated that most parameters, such as EC and TDS,were within permissible limits for drinking water, signifying low levels of ionic and organic contaminants. However,PH levels range from 4.4 to 6.3, indicating slight acidity, while DO levels were critically low (0.7-0.21 mg/L),raising concerns about water quality for potable and ecological use.Recommendations include PH adjustments, aeration to improve oxygen levels, and regular monitoring to maintain water quality.this research provides a framework for improving water management and addressing pollution sources in developing regions.
