An Appraisal of Woman in Journalism Practice in Ekiti State

Abstract
ABSTRACT
This study appraised the experiences of women in journalism practice in Ekiti State,
Nigeria. A survey research design was employed, and a questionnaire was used to collect data
from 150 women journalists in the state. The study revealed that women journalists in Ekiti State
face challenges such as gender bias, work-life balance, and limited opportunities. However, the
study also found that women journalists in the state are resilient and determined to succeed in
their profession. The study recommends that media organizations and policymakers take steps to
promote gender equality and support women in journalism. The findings of this study have
implications for promoting diversity and inclusion in the media industry.
