Abstract
Construction sites are among the most hazardous workplaces, with a high incidence of accidents resulting from inadequate safety measures and poor compliance with established safety standards. This study appraises accident prevention measures on construction sites with a view to proposing effective safety procedures, prevention methods, and health and safety policies. The research specifically assesses the level of compliance with accident prevention practices, investigates the influence of the cost of risk control measures on the implementation of such practices, and examines strategies to improve compliance on construction sites. Data were collected through structured questionnaires administered to construction professionals, and the findings were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. The results reveal that while there is moderate awareness of safety practices, compliance levels remain low due to inadequate funding and lack of enforcement. The study recommends that construction firms should prioritize safety training, allocate sufficient budgets for risk control, and strengthen adherence to occupational health and safety regulations to minimize accidents on construction sites.
