Academic Challenges Among Working Students in Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto Nigeria

Abstract
ABSTRACT
Many students are working while enrolling in higher education, this employment somehow affects their academic studies and college experiences. Among the reasons why student choose to work while studying is due to increasing study cost, decreasing scholarship and low family income. These situations have resulted in increasing number of students to do part-time employment and encourage the students who are willing to continue their studies to higher education to take loan. This study provides in-depth insights into the unique challenges faced by working students and understanding these challenges helped universities develop tailored support mechanisms, the study utilized role strain theory to shape the background knowledge of the study. The was employed quantitative approach and questionnaire were used as instruments for data collection and was designed through online survey kobocollet and of course a total of (392) questionnaire was distributed to (392) respondents. SPSS software saved as instruments for data analysis, frequency and percentage were used to interpret the data. Findings from this study informed the development of policies and programs at Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto that cater to the needs of working students. This can lead to a more inclusive and supportive academic environment.
