Abstract
Aqueous extract of Aloe Vera juice was found to have immunomodulatory effects in Wistar rats, leading to increased production of immunoglobin G (IgG), elevated white blood cell (WBC) counts and enhanced activity of Superoxide Dismutase (SOD) an antioxidant enzyme.
These effects suggest that Aloe Vera extract may have potential as an immunostimulant and anti oxidant enhancing the body's defence against infections and oxidative stress.
