Abstract
This research study focuses on Accessing the Impact of Opinion Leaders in Solving Communal Crisis in Osun state with particular reference to Boripe Local Government area of Osun State. The objectives of the study are to; the objective of this study is to examine the impact of opinion leaders in solving communal crisis; to show whether opinion leaders build mutual understanding between the communal; to identify ways by which opinion leaders impacted in the Boripe town crisis; to identify the impact of the media preference by opinion leaders on the Boripe Local Government area communal crisis; Survey method was employed in carrying out this research, 150 questionnaires were distributed out of which only 140 copies were successfully completed and returned. Analysis was done with the use of simple percentage.
Findings of this research shows that majority of the respondents agreed that opinion leader has positive impact on the people of Boripe Local Government towns Finding also reveal that majority of the respondents (40%) on how opinion leader build mutual understanding between Boripe Local Government towns. This study recommended that Opinion leaders campaigns should be used to catalyzed wider political engagement on issues and to promote sustainable people choices on media preference. It is also recommend that the people of Boripe local government including the educated and non - educated should have right to information through media preference of their choice.
