Abstract
This project addresses critical challenges faced by farmers in rural Nigerian communities, such as Ilara-Mokin, including limited market access, significant post-harvest losses, and inefficient traditional supply chains that result in delayed deliveries and inconsistent pricing. To solve these issues, a web-based ordering system was developed. This platform directly connects farmers with buyers, establishing a more efficient and streamlined marketplace. Utilizing modern web technologies such as Next.js 15 for the frontend, Payload CMS for a headless backend, and Paystack for secure payment processing, the system offers customizable vendor storefronts, robust product management, and an accessible shopping experience. A key innovative feature is the integration of educated middlemen, ensuring inclusivity for farmers without smartphone access. The system aims to increase farmers' incomes, reduce post-harvest waste, and enhance food security by streamlining logistics and fostering direct relationships. This serves as a scalable model for agricultural digital commerce.
