Abstract
The manual key management system currently in use at Modibbo Adama University (MAU) presents significant security risks and operational inefficiencies, including identity fraud, lack of auditability, and accountability gaps. This study aimed to design, develop, and evaluate a web-based key management system (WKMS) to address these challenges. The system was developed using a structured Waterfall methodology, incorporating PHP, MySQL, and Tailwind CSS to create a responsive and secure platform. Key features include role-based access control, real-time key tracking, encrypted authentication, and automated transaction logging.
