Impact of Entrepreneurship on the Economic Development of Nigeria, a Case Study of Ladduga, Kachia Local Government Area of Kaduna State

Abstract
The study was conducted to examine the impact of entrepreneurship on the economic development of Nigeria. A case study of Ladduga, kachia local government area of Kaduna state. The study is guided by four objectives and four research questions. Several literatures related to the study were reviewed. The study adopted descriptive survey design. The population of the study comprises 512 entrepreneurs from different communities within Ladduga community. Stratified random sampling technique was used to select five areas to get a sample size of 150 entrepreneurs. The questionnaire was the instrument for data collection for this study. Data collected were analysed using simple frequency and percentage tables as the main statistical tool for analysing the data. Findings showed that entrepreneurship, if well channelled, holds the key to Nigeria’s revival from the current recession and can reduce stagnation of economic development. The study concluded that entrepreneurship creates room for opportunities and has a positive contribution to socio-economic development of a country as a whole. The study recommended that all stakeholders should as matters of urgency tackle the observed lapses that cause entrepreneurs fear and anxiety. Also, the government should ensure that adequate infrastructure, government policies and processes as well as security are consequently improved in the country as a whole.
