Abstract
This study investigates the impact of improvisation in the teaching and learning of IslamicStudies in selected secondary schools in Wamako Local Government Area, Sokoto State.Utilizing a descriptive survey research design, data were collected from 320 participants,including teachers and students, through self-developed questionnaires.The findings reveal thata significant majority of Islamic Studies teachers (77%) employ improvised teaching aids,whichpositively influences student engagement and performance. Specifically, 67.5% of students reported enjoying lessons that incorporated these aids, with 84.5% passing their examinations.The research highlights the importance of improvisation as a pedagogical strategy that enhances the learning experience by making lessons more relatable and interactive. Furthermore, itunderscores the need for professional development for teachers, improved resource availability in schools, and community involvement in educational practices. The study concludes thatfostering improvisational techniques can lead to better educational outcomes in Islamic Studies and recommends broader implementation across various subjects to enrich the overall educational landscape.
