Integration of Computer Technique in Nigerian Music: Implication for Teaching and Learning of Music in Secondary Schools in Owerri Municipal Council

Abstract
ABSTRACT
The study is aimed at investigating the integration of computer techniques in the teaching and learning of music in secondary schools in Owerri Municipal Council of Imo State. A total of (15) fifteen respondents comprising all music teachers in government owned secondary schools in the area of the study were interviewed.
The researcher adopted a survey census design. The researcher structured five (5) research questions with twenty (20) questionnaire items, which were used as major instrument for data collection. The efforts were made towards explaining what computer techniques are from the findings, computers are not available in various schools in Owerri Municipal. The researcher hence recommended that the teachers should put in more efforts in Competency Based Teacher Education (CBTE), government should help salvage the situation for a better tomorrow and parents on the other hand, should enroll their wards in holiday lessons to give them sound knowledge of computer, which will therefore improve the study of music to meet the demands in the 21st century.
