Abstract
The study evaluated the influence of Job Satisfaction and Performance of Librarians in University of Calabar Library. To achieve purpose of this study, three research questions and three research hypotheses were formulated to guide the study. Literature review was carried out based on the variables of the study. The study adopted a census sampling method with a study population of 12 professional Librarians in University of Calabar Library, total enumeration was used because the population was small. The research design was descriptive survey. A structured and validated questionnaire was used for data collection. Data was analyzed using simple regression techniques to test the hypotheses. The findings revealed that, there is no significant influence of leadership style, promotion and work motivation on job satisfaction of Librarians in the University of Calabar library. Based on the findings, that university management should develop a clear and transparent promotion process that rewards Librarians based on merit, experience, and performance. Lastly, the study recommended that management of the Universities library should recognize and appreciate the hard work and dedication of Librarians through rewards and incentives to enable Librarians feel motivated and valued for their contributions.
