Abstract
ABSTRACT
The study investigated the impact of employee grievance on job performance of employees in Bamidele Olumilua University of Education, Science and Technology, Ikere. Five research questions were raised to guide the study while two research hypotheses were formulated for the study. The study employed descriptive research design of survey type. The study employed a sample size estimate using Toro Yamane formula from the population 1378 staff of BOUESTI, hence a sample size of three hundred and ten (310) respondents was used for the study. A stratified random sampling method was used to select non-academic staff and academic staff members, ensuring representation from different administrative units, departments and academic ranks. Two major tools were used to obtain adequate and reliable information for this study. These include interview and questionnaires of both structured and semi-structured nature. The analysis of the study revealed that there was a significant relationship between the causes of employee grievances and the degree of job performance decline at Bamidele Olumilua University of Education, Science and Technology, Ikere. It was also revealed that there was a significant relationship between effective grievance management strategies and job performance at Bamidele Olumilua University of Education, Science and Technology, Ikere. The study recommended that management should develop a structured and transparent process for employee to voice grievances, ensuring all complaints are heard and addressed in a timely manner.
