Effect of Risk Management on Profitability of Listed Insurance Firms in Nigeria

Abstract
ABSTRACT
This research work was carried out to examine the effect of risk management
on profitability of listed insurance firms in Nigeria. The objective of the study is
to examine the credit risk on return on assets of listed insurance firms in
Nigeria and to evaluate the impact of interest rate risk on return on assets of
listed insurance firms in Nigeria. The population consists of (12) insurance firms listed on the Nigeria Exchange Group, out of which six (6) are used as sample size for the study. The research ex-post design was used for the study. Based onthe findings, that the insurance firms maintain adequate books of account for their customers (contributors). It was concluded that those manufacturing firms with high liquidity polices perform less as liquidity management negatively affect of the organization (profitability of the firm). Hence recommended that the firm should work to achieve this by giving discount to their debators base on their duration ion payment.
