Abstract
Water is essential to life, but many people do not have access to clean and safe drinking water and many die of waterborne bacterial infections. The study accessed the bacteria mean count of the three selected reputable streams in oke osun metropolis and identified the bacteria isolated from the streams. The viable bacterial count was determined by the water samples up to 100.1 from 10 and 10 dilutions. Pour plate and streak plate methods were used for bacteria plate count and sub culturing respectively. Selective and differential media were also used for bacteria characterization. The result obtained from plate count shows that Oke osun had higher count
