Abstract
Abstract
Assessment of some physicochemical parameters, heavy metals and coliform contamination of storage water at kuntau area of gwale local government kano state was carried out using standard methods. The result of the physicochemical shows temperature, total dissolve solids, total suspended solids and salinity to be within the WHO (2017) guidelines for drinking water. However, the pH of all samples was below 6.5- 8.5 which shows that the water is acidic. The heavy metals analyzed include cadmium, copper and lead. Sample 7,8,9,10 have lead values above the WHO (2017) guidelines for drinking waterwhile the copper and cadmium values are within the limit . The detection of E. Coli Implies that the water samples were potentially contaminated from faecal sources and, as such, were not safe for consumption.
