Abstract
Female directors are often perceived as being more focused on social issues and risk management, rather than financial performance and strategic decision-making. This perception is influenced by various factors, including the gender composition of the board, industry, respondent's gender, and company size. These findings highlight the urgent need to address gender biases in corporate leadership through increased diversity and inclusion efforts. The objective of the study is to examine the effect of corporate glass ceiling on organizational performance in selected breweries in Lagos
State. To achieve this, the specific objectives to guide this research were to; (i) Analyze the effect of gender pay gap on organizational performance. (ii)Assess the effect of intersectionality on organizational performance. (iii)Investigate the impact of leadership perception on organizational performance. The sample size of 311 staffs was selected and determined through Taro Yamane’s (1967).To test the hypotheses,
Pearson's moment of correlation was used to determine the cause-and-effect relationship of the variables of the hypotheses stated. This was analyzed using SPSS.
The findings of the study revealed that there was a significant relationship between gender pay gap and organizational performance in selected breweries in Lagos State.
Using the Pearson Product Moment Correlation Analysis, it was observed that the correlation coefficients of the independent variable (gender pay gap) were 0.075 and
0.151 respectively, with a total sample size of 264 respondents. The study on the corporate glass ceiling and organizational performance, conducted across selected breweries in Lagos State, uncovered key insights into the factors influencing organizational outcomes. The findings revealed a significant positive relationship
between the gender pay gap and organizational performance.
