Antimicrobial Activities of Ocimum Gratissimum L. Against the Fungi Isolated from Spoilt Solanum Lycopersicum L.

Abstract
Fungal contamination of Solanum lycopersicum L. (Tomato) is a major concern in post harvest losses, which affects both quality and marketability. This study investigate the antimicrobial properties of Ocimum gratissimum (scent leaf) against fungi isolated from tomato fruits. In this study, fungal species were isolated from infected tomatoes and identified followed by testing the antimicrobial efficacy of scent leaf extract. The zone of inhibition varied depending on the fungal species demonstrating the potential of scent leaf as a natural antifungal agent.
