Installation and Performance Analysis of a 5kw Solar-Powered Inverter in Osun State Polytechnic Iree at Mis Building

This project report examines the Installation and Performance Evaluation of a 5kW Solar-
Powered Inverter at Osun State Polytechnic Iree purposely built at MIS Building. It addresses a
major issue of costly electricity and persistent power supply interruptions, the need for a reliable
source of power, which is why the project is inclusive of solar-powered systems. The aim is
outlined in the introduction; this includes the design, installation, and evaluation of a solar
inverter system intended to cater to the energy needs of the Polytechnic. This literature review
encompasses the recent advancements in solar technologies and stresses the significance of
inverter and battery storage mechanisms in facilitating a constant supply of power. System
design specifications include a PV3000 inverter; six 330V solar panels; and four Eastman Smart
Series Tubular Inverter Batteries 12V/220AH. This includes the entire installation setup
procedure including electrical connection and assembly of the components. Testing and
commissioning confirmed that the system met the building demands by providing a constant
output load and reliable standby power. The research states that heavy-duty usage of the 5kW
inverter results in less usage of power, the operational cost is reduced and energy sustainability
improves. The report provides a convincing positive outlook on solaring in institutions of
learning with solar power system-based expansion and maintenance together with performance
monitoring growth. In similar situations as institutions, it gives methods that can be expanded for
use in the transformation of energy in the course of the project.
