Abstract

ABSTRACT
This research work is focused on “diabetic prediction system”. Diabetes
prediction system is a computer based system that diagnosis and display
possible health symptoms of someone suffering from Diabetes. The
challenges of the current system are time delay in diagnosing patients
suffering from diabetes, undue access to some important medical records of
patients, wrong prescription of drugs and the diagnostic results of patients
often filled with errors and miscalculations are some of the challenges that
has necessitated the design of the new system which when implemented
would enhance the quick retrieval and management of patients records in
the hospital, it will further serve as research materials for academic
researchers who want to know more about prediction system and diabetes, it
will help improve the Diagnosis and treatment of Diabetes and it will help
reduce the mortality rate of patient suffering from Diabetes. The methods of
data collection used were fact finding, interview and observation. Object
Oriented Analysis design Methodology (OOADM) which gave clearer and
direct pattern of solving existing problems and implementing the result were
used as the software engineering methodology while Visual BASIC.NET was
used as the programming language for coding of the modules of the design.
