Effect of Industrial Waste on Environmental Development (a Study of Champion Breweries Uyo, Akwa Ibom State)

This study focused on the effect of industrial waste on environmental development using Champion Breweries Plc, Uyo as a case study. the objective includes to investigate the effect of industrial waste on environmental quality of Champion Breweries Plc, Uyo, to ascertain the effects of industrial waste management on human health around the factory layout, to proffer solution to industrial problems etc. a descriptive survey approach was used to select workers in the corporation, Yaro Yamani formula was adopted to determine the sample size. Data relevant for the study were obtained through the use of questionnaire; the data collected were analyzed using simple frequencies and percentages which were further carried out using the chi-square at 0.05, significant level was 0.103 table value of X2. Findings revealed that there is a significant relationship between industrial waste and environmental development which the calculated value of X2 at 0.05 was 2.99 greater than the table value of X2 at 0.05 = 0.103 with its result, null hypothesis (Ho) was rejected. Further research shows that reflection of industrial waste management as presented in the table which the calculated value of X2 was 2.99 > 0.103 table value of chi-square X2, the null hypothesis (Ho) was rejected while the alternative hypothesis (HA) was accepted. Recommendation: effective and efficient control system and management should be adopted to take appropriate care of this industrial waste to ensure a healthy environment.
