The Influence of Digital Innovation on Student’s Performance in Reading Proficiency Among Secondary Students in Ado Local Government

Abstract
This research was aimed at investigating the influence of digital innovation on students' performance in reading proficiency among secondary school students in Ado local government area of Ekiti State.
In all, a total of one hundred (100) respondents formed the study sample which comprised of fifty eight (58) male respondents and forty two (42) female respondents. Three (3) research questions which were raised for the study were answered descriptively usNig frequency count, percentage and weighted mean. An extreme review of related literature was carried out to shed more light into the problem under investigation. The analysis of results showed that students use tablets often for reading purposes in their school work, as tablets computer devices was believed to make reading more interesting and enjoyable for the students. It was also revealed that most of the students are confident in their ability to use tablet devices which enhances their reading skills, as they find digital reading materials most engaging, and that using tablet devices provides them with access to a wider variety of reading materials that they find engaging and relevant. It was further revealed that digital reading materials and e-books enhance students' interest in reading, as tablet devices provides personalized reading experiences that cater to individual student needs and abilities. It was further revealed that students perceive the role of tablet devices in fostering collaborative reading experiences among students, where they can discuss and share insights about texts, the use of tablets devices for reading was found to help students to retain and remember what they have read more effectively and that tablets devices expands students' vocabulary and exposure to a wider range of reading materials.
