The Effects of Accounting Techniques on Small Business Performance

Abstract
The research work titled “the effects of accounting techniques on small business performance”. The general objective of this study to investigating the effect of accounting techniques on small business performance. The specific objectives are to: investigate the effect of accounting techniques on SMEs performance, and the instruments used were main sources from both Primary data and Secondary data. The primary data was obtained using properly structured questionnaire and semi-structured interview. while the secondary data for the study were obtained mainly from textbooks, journals and internet articles. A simple percentage approach was employed to analyze the questionnaire while the hypothesis was tested using Regression Analysis at 5% level of significance. The analyses were performed using the chi-square test. It therefore recommended that the government and private institution should provide financial literacy and accounting training tailored to small business owners to improve their understanding and utilization of accounting techniques.
