Abstract
This study examines the Management Factors as Predictors of Academic Staff Job Performance in Public Higher Institutions in Oyo State, Nigeria. For the purpose of this study, six research questions and five hypotheses were formulated for this study. The study adopts a descriptive survey research design. The population of this study comprises all academic staff from four public higher institutions in Oyo State, Nigeria (federal and state universities in Oyo state). Purposive sampling techniques were used to select three hundred (300) academic staffs in four public higher institutions in Oyo state. Self-structured questionnaire were used to elicit information from the selected academic staffs in four public institutions. The data collected were analyzed using both descriptive and inferential statistics. Descriptive statistics such as simple percentages, mean, and standard deviation. Inferential statistics, specifically Pearson Product Moment Correlation was employed to analyzed hypotheses formulated at 0.05 levels of significant. Therefore, the result shows that management factors (organizational leadership style, organizational culture, staff development opportunity, workload management, and provision of adequate resources) predicts academic staff job performance in public higher institutions in Oyo state, Nigeria. Therefore, it was recommended that University administrators should implement participatory and transformational leadership styles that foster motivation, transparency, and collaboration among academic staff, also Institutions should cultivate an inclusive work environment that encourages teamwork, academic freedom, fairness, and ethical standards in decision making in public higher institutions in Oyo state, Nigeria.
