Abstract
This study investigated the awareness and utilization of innovative teaching strategies among biology teachers in senior secondary schools in Minna, Niger State. A total of 278 respondents (128 males and 150 females) participated in the study. Descriptive statistics and ANOVA were used to analyze the data. The findings revealed that 32.37% of the respondents were very aware of Project-Based Learning (PBL), and 34.17% were highly aware of Inquiry-Based Learning (IBL). In terms of utilization, 32.37% of the teachers used PBL regularly, while 34.17% frequently employed IBL. Despite slight gender differences in awareness, with male teachers showing slightly higher levels, no significant difference was found in the utilization of innovative strategies between male and female teachers. The study recommends regular professional development programs and increased resource provision to ensure all teachers effectively employ innovative teaching strategies.
