Abstract
ABSTRACT
This research work examines the influence of instructional materials on theacademic achievement of secondary school students in chemistry in Onicha LocalGovernment Area, Ebonyi State. Three research question and three hypothesesguided this study, literature review was based on the variable of study expo-factodesign was used and a total number of three hundred (300) only SS 2 Studentswho offered chemistry in public school was selected using simply randomsampling techniques for the study. The instrument used for the study were 15-items Influence of Instructional Material on Academic AchievementQuestionnaire (IIMAAQ) and Chemistry Achievement Test (CAT). Pearsonproduct movement correlation co-efficient test was used as statistical tool for dataanalysis. Hypothesis was tested at 0.5 significant. The finding of this study showthat there is a significat difference between availability of instructional material,accessibility,utilization of instructional material and academic achievement ofchemistry students in Onicha Local Government Area, of Ebonyi State. Based onthe finding of this study, it was recommended of this study that there is need inthe improvement of the availability of instructional material to enhance academicachievement of students in chemistry.
