Abstract
The design of furniture within textile studios plays a crucial role in shaping the efficiency, productivity, and overall comfort of its users. This project, titled “Designing Multi-Purpose Furniture for the Textile Studio,” seeks to address the limitations of conventional studio furniture by developing versatile, adaptable designs that cater to the diverse needs of textile artists and designers. The study explores how functionality, durability, and aesthetics can be thoughtfully combined within single furniture units, enabling them to support a range of studio activities seamlessly.
By focusing on the integration of multipurpose features, this project contributes to design practice by bridging gaps in existing literature and offering practical solutions for improving workspace efficiency in creative environments. The findings reveal that well-considered furniture design can enhance studio functionality, improve user satisfaction, and inspire new approaches to interior design in specialized workspaces. In doing so, the project opens up opportunities for future innovation in studio furniture tailored to meet the evolving demands of textile production spaces.
