Abstract
This project presents the design and construction design and construction of an
electronic digital display system with Bluetooth for dynamic message
visualization within the Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering at
UDUS. Local signs are currently being used in the department to display
information. The local sign local sign is limited at night, could not display clearly
except light shines on it. Moreover, they are less attractive, display little
information and hectic to design. These prompted researchers to tirelessly hold
up to these challenges by initiating some means of improving the above. The aim
was to design an electronic device that will display welcome information upon
arrival at the department and some names of personnel of the department. A
Bluetooth was incorporated to change the displayed information dynamically
from a distance of 10m using a smartphone. By utilizing an Arduino Nano as the
central controller, the system uses three 8x8 LED matrices driven by a MAX7219
ICs to create a comprehensive display capable of showcasing the predefined
messages. Moreover, an HC-05 Bluetooth module was used for wireless
communication, allowing user to send custom messages from any Bluetooth-
enabled device, which are then seamlessly displayed on the LED matrices. The
circuit is meticulously assembled on a Vero board, incorporating other supporting
components to ensure stable operation. The LED matrix display successfully,
demonstrating its capability to showcase customized messages, including the
department's welcome message and personnel names such as HOD, supervisor,
and authors. Furthermore, this highlights the system's flexibility and adaptability
in displaying various types of information. The Bluetooth connectivity feature
enabled seamless transmission of information from a smartphone to the LED
display. This functionality allows for real-time updates and displays of
information, enhancing the system's versatility and practicality.
