Abstract
The Chromatogram of the GC-MS Analysis of the bioactive Components of the extract of Cocos nucifera haustorium using dichloromethane as the solvent showed the presence of 35 compounds. The highest peak was observed at the retention time of 12.036 minutes and 16.797 minutes, while the lowest peak was observed at a retention time of 18.451 minutes and18,016 respectively. 2(2-Bromoethyl)-1,3-dioxane and Bicyclo[2.2.1]heptane-2-carboxylic acid had the highest concentrations with a values of 17.180% at retention time 16.797 minutes and 13.283% at retention time17.175 minutes respectively. While 2H-Pyran, 2-[(6-chlorohexyl) oxy]tetrahydro- and 9,12-Octadecadienoyl chloride, (Z, Z)- had the lowest concentrations at 0.609% at retention time 14.503 minutes and 0.619% at retention time 14.886 minutes respectively. From the result of this study, it can be concluded that the haustorium of Cocos nucifera is of medicinal, industrial, and dietary relevance, considering the diverse bioactive compounds it is endowed with and their groundbreaking benefits.
