Abstract
ABSTRACT
The purpose of this study is on the effect of Agricultural cooperative societies on poverty reduction in Kura Local Government of Kano state. The major objective of the research is to assess the impact of Agricultural cooperative societies towards poverty reduction in Kura Local Government.The methodology involved the use of structural questionnaire to gather primary data on 100 respondents in the research area. The findings of the research revealed that most of Kura farmers still produce below expectations, despite the agricultural activities included farming animal husbandry, fishing, processing and marketing of agro-products, and this could be limited to lack of capital unavailability of modern farming implements and inputs. It was recommended that There’s need by Kano State government to extend and encourage the activities in agriculture programmes so that to improve the cottage industries, whereby the farmers can process what they harvested (farm produce) and generate more revenues and profits in their farming activities Kura LGA.
