Dpph Scavenging Activities of Some Fruit Juice Extracts Consumed Within Eket Metropolis

Abstract
This study evaluated the antioxidant activity of juice extracts from four different fruits: lime (Citrus aurantiifolia), avocado (Persea americana), soursop (Annona muricata), and tangerine (Citrus reticulata)—using the 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radical scavenging assay. Ascorbic acid was used as the standard antioxidant control. The analysis was performed at three concentrations (10, 50, and 100 µg/mL), and the IC₅₀ values (the concentration required to inhibit 50% of DPPH radicals) were determined for each extract. The study concludes that lime is a rich source of natural antioxidants and recommends its increased dietary use to combat oxidative stress and related health conditions.
