Abstract
The research assesses how security challenges influence the performance of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Darazo Local Government, Bauchi State. Using questionnaires and statistical analysis, the study reveals that insecurity severely affects business operations, reduces investment, and undermines socio-economic growth. The findings show that frequent attacks and instability cause business closures, unemployment, and economic stagnation. The study recommends stronger government security intervention, better infrastructure, and business-friendly policies to support SMEs and restore investor confidence.
