Influence of Parental Involvement on Academic Performance of Senior Secondary School Students in Kumbotso Local Government Area of Kano State

Abstract
ABSTRACT
This study investigated Examine the effect of study habits on Biology Students and Academic achievement among Secondary Schools in Kumbotso local, Kano State. The research design of this study is descriptive survey. Thus, the population of this study consist of students in all the secondary schools within Kumbotso Local Government Area of Kano State. A total number of Eighty (80) students were selected as the sample. Researcher develop questionnaire was used for data collection after being validated by the supervisor; the data were analyzed using frequency and percentage. The result of the finding revealed that Examine the factors influencing students study habit in Kumbotso local, Kano State Was high. Effects of reading and note taking on student academic performance in biology in Kumbotso local, Kano State was high. Effects of teacher’s consultation on student academic performance in biology in Kumbotso local, Kano State was high. Effects of study Habits among secondary school students’ academic achievement of male and female in biology in Kumbotso local, Kano State was high. It also revealed that majority of the respondents (55.6%) were females, while 44.4% were males. The age range of the respondents was between 14-18 years, with a mean age of 16.2 years. It was also revealed that majority of the respondents (60.8%) had a moderate level of study habits, while 21.1% had a high level of study habits, and 18.1% had a low level of study habits. It was recommended that teachers and educators should emphasize the importance of good study habits and provide students with strategies and techniques to improve their study habits. Schools should provide students with access to resources and facilities that support good study habits, such as libraries and study centers. Parents and guardians should encourage and support their children in developing good study habits.
