Employees Discipline and Organisational Performance Among Staffs of Auchi Polytechnic, Auchi.

Abstract

This project was carried out to find out the relationship between employee discipline and organizational performance among staffs of Auchi polytechnic, Auchi. The main objective of this study is to identify the effects of employees discipline on organizational performance, taking Auchi Polytechnic Auchi. Also to ascertain the impact of disciplinary procedures on organizational performance and to determine the extent to which indiscipline has influenced the performance of employee in an organization. The survey research design was adopted for the study Taro Yamane sampling method was used to get a sample size of 235. Data were gathered using the questionnaire instrument, and data were analysed using the simple percentage, while hypothesis were tested with chi-square too.Findings from the study revealed that employee indiscipline affects organizational profitability and productivity. it was concluded that indiscipline influences the performance of employee negatively, among others. On the basis of the findings it was recommended that since current code of discipline affects the employee performance to a very great extent, there should be increased support for learning. The code of discipline and new employees should go through proper induction and this will ensure performance throughout the employees stay in the organization.
