Abstract

ABSTRACTThis study focuses on the strategies for enhancing the practical skill of students in building technology that will enable them to function effectively. The study adopted survey research design. The sample for the study comprised of 10 students of Building Technology from College of Technical and Vocational Education, Kaduna Polytechnic, Kaduna Nigeria. A questionnaire consisting of 25 items was developed and used for data collection. The questionnaire was subjected to validity and reliability of good research instrument by the experts. Each of the items of the instrument scrutinized for clarity of statements. They were also requested to examine the appropriateness and suitability of all items of the questionnaire. Their suggestions and corrections were used in modifying the instrument. Cronbach alpha method was used to estimate the reliability coefficient of the instrument. A total of 10 copies of the questionnaire were administered on the respondents by the researcher. The completed questionnaires were collected after an interval of two weeks. The data collected were analyzed using mean for answering the five research questions while t-test with hypotheses at 0.05 level of significance.
