ABSTRACT
This project closely portrays and analyses the significance of traditional painting on the digital paintings of JnGospel Ebere and Joecollins Ezepue. Through a qualitative examination of their digital works, the project will bring to light how the knowledge of traditional painting and its rudiments guided them in merging art and technology to produce good works. Sir JnGospel Ebere and Joecollins Ezepue have different distinctive painting styles that showcases a fusion of traditional African influences with contemporary techniques, done with modern digital gadgets and software’s offering a fresh perspective to art. Traditional painting is a rich and diverse art form, with a profound impact on art history, cultural heritage, and contemporary creative practices. Its timeless techniques, mediums, and styles continue to inspire artists, designers and art enthusiasts alike. As technology advance, traditional painting remains a vital part of our cultural landscape offering a unique and expressive voice in an increasingly digital world. The research include gathering primary data through interaction with both artists, getting photographs of their digital works as well as analyzing secondary sources. The findings contribute to a deeper understanding of the role of the timeless traditional painting techniques in the creative journey of both practicing painters and aspiring digital artists.
