Abstract
This study examines the modification of MV Blue Ocean into the MV Blue Ocean Seaweed Harvester, focusing on business model development and financial analysis for its operation in Nigeria’s Niger Delta. The research adopts a Business-to-Business (B2B) model, targeting industries that utilize seaweed for commercial applications, including livestock feed production. Feasibility and profitability are assessed through Net Present Value (NPV) analysis, ensuring long-term viability. Sensitivity analysis evaluates financial risks by examining variations in selling price, operating costs, discount rate, and harvest yield. Findings indicate that refurbishing MV Blue Ocean as a seaweed harvester presents a profitable investment, dependent on effective cost management and strategic partnerships. Sensitivity analysis highlights key risk factors and mitigation strategies to enhance financial resilience.
