Abstract

This research work examined the “Political Participation and Inequalities: A
Case Study of Nigeria’s Fourth Republic”
. Descriptive research design was
employed to collect necessary data. The data for the study were analyzed
through the simple percentage and chi-square methods of data analysis.
The findings revealed that strong involvement of general public in the
political process proven to be of immense benefit in rising better generation
in any community. Inclusive democracy can be the solution for bringing
back pure democracy to Nigeria. It was recommended that the
improvement of the present political system by involvement of public in
every level of political system can be helpful in building a perfect harmony in
governance. Also, government should enforce stringent measures to
discourage money bags in politics. Appropriate legislations should be put in
place to that effect and government should manifest the political will to
ensure compliance. Furthermore, the availability of social amenities, for
example provision of stable electricity and other infrastructure can
encourage the growth of industries in different parts of the country thereby
reducing unemployment in the country
