Abstract
Road deformation is a critical issue in transportation infrastructure, influenced by
mechanical stresses from traffic loads and environmental factors. This project
applies the Finite Difference Method (FDM) to model one-dimensional road
deformation under a uniformly distributed load, with a focus on predicting
displacement at various points along the road. The study establishes a Mathematical
Model based on elasticity theory, discretizing the road into finite nodes to
approximate deformation using numerical methods. Key assumptions include static
loading conditions, uniform material properties, and fixed or free boundary
constraints.
