Abstract
This research work sought to examine the impact of anti-corruption policies on public service performance in Nigeria: a case study of the economic and financial crimes commission (EFCC) 2011-2023. The study made use of questionnaire to obtain data from respondent. Four objectives were raised for the study. The study found that the enforcement of anti-corruption laws by the EFCC has led to notable successes in terms of high-profile prosecutions and convictions. Between 2011 and 2023, the EFCC has successfully prosecuted several prominent political and business figures, sending a strong message that corruption at all levels will not be tolerated. It also found that The agency's rigorous investigation and prosecution processes have not only helped recover significant amounts of stolen public funds but have also set a precedent for legal repercussions associated with corrupt activities. The study concluded that the EFCC has made considerable strides in the fight against corruption in Nigeria, significant challenges remain that require comprehensive and sustained efforts though Political will, resource allocation, legal reforms, institutional collaboration, and public engagement are crucial to enhancing the effectiveness of anti-corruption policies and improving public service performance in Nigeria. Therefore The Nigerian government should prioritize the allocation of adequate resources to the EFCC. This includes increased funding, staffing, and access to advanced technological tools necessary for thorough investigations and effective prosecutions.
