Abstract
The rising demand for clean and reliable energy has strengthened the adoption of solar photovoltaic systems across the world. However, the fluctuating nature of solar irradiance often limits the efficiency of direct battery charging. This study examines the design and implementation of a Maximum Power Point Tracking based battery charging system that maximizes the extraction of power from solar panels while ensuring safe and efficient battery storage. The research evaluates the performance of an MPPT charging controller using experimental readings of panel voltage, current, and charging output under varying environmental conditions. Findings reveal that MPPT techniques significantly improve charging efficiency when compared with traditional controllers. The system provides stable energy transfer, protects battery health, and increases the overall productivity of solar installations.
