Career Prospects and Job Satisfation of Office Technology and Management Graduates in Osun State Public Service

Abstract

This study work focused on “career prospects and job satisfaction of Office Technology and Management graduates in Osun Stae Public Service”. Case study of Osun State Ministries of Education and Finance, Abeere, Osogbo, Osun State, Nigeria. Descriptive survey research design was used for the study. The population for the study comprised fifteen (15) secretaries of Ministry of Education and fifteen (15) secretaries of Finance, Abeere, Osogbo, Osun State form the case study. The total population was 30 secretaries No sample was made because of the manageable size of the population. Four (4) research questions guided the study: (1) What are the career progressions for Office Technology and management graduates in Osun State Public Service? (2) How Satisfied are office technology and Management graduates with their working conditions in Osun State Public service? (3) How Satisfied are Office Technology and Management graduates with their emoluments in Osun State Public Service? (4) How satisfied are Office Technology and Management graduates with their working environment in Osun state Public Service? Questionnaire was used as the instrument for data collection from the respondents. Data collected was analysed using simple mean method. Based on the findings, the study concluded that remuneration and fair reward generates a culture of efforts and achievements within an organization. It was recommended that organization should develop an involvement strategy to gain active support from OTM graduates to bring about change.
