Accounting Ratio as a Tools for Measuring Corporate Performance in Guinness Nigeria Plc

Abstract
ABSTRACT This study examined the accounting ratio as a tool for measuring corporate performance in Guinness Nigeria Plc. The objectives of the study are to determine the effect of current ratio on corporate performance of an organization and to determine the impact of liquidity ratio on corporate performance of an organization. Expo facto was adopted using secondary data. Result showed that there is significant relationship between current ratio and corporate performance of an organization and there is significant relationship between liquidity ratio and corporate performance of an organization. Based on the findings, the study recommended that financial statement should be prepared using language and terms a layman can understand because the technical terms do mean much to the investors; companies and banks should carry out educational enlightenment programme from time to time to enable investors understand the financial report fully and companies and banks should sponsor research into the information needs for their investors and how best to communicate this information to them.
