Abstract
ABSTRACT
The study examined the determinants of employee commitment in relation to retention strategies for performance management in a private sector: Access Bank PLC Lagos state, Nigeria.
Quantitative research design, specifically a purposive/ convenience sampling technique was used. Primary data were collected from selected 5 five Access Bank PLC branches in Lagos state. 20 staffs were selected from each five selected branches equivalent to 100 respondents through online questionnaire administration. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics for demographic information, while hypotheses were analyzed through mean decision and Linear Regression. Analysis was conducted using statistical package for social sciences (SPSS) version 20.0.
The study found that job satisfaction, organizational culture, training and professional development opportunity and employee recognition influences organizational performance among workers in Access Bank PLC Lagos state. conclusively an organization like Access Bank PLC in other to thrive in a competitive financial sector, attention must be placed on holistic employee engagement strategies which will not only enhance employee retention but also drive organizational performance, sustainability, and ensure long-term success.
The study recommended that organization should ensure that employees input and effort are recognized as this would ensure that employees are feel connected to the overall success of the firm. Employers should create a positive culture and supportive work environment that values employee contributions which enhance over all organizational performance. Organisations should focus on providing opportunities for personal growth to boost employees job satisfaction and performance. Organisation should also focus on non-financial benefits for employees as this would ensure that employees are more connected to the firm.
