Firms Characteristics and Financial Performance of Listed Commercial Banks in Nigeria

Abstract
This study was undertaken to investigate the impact of firm’s characteristics on the financial performance of list commercial banks in Nigeria. Time series data spanning 2012-2020 was sourced from the various audited reports of sampled firms and analyzed using the panel least square with random effect technique. Prior statistical conducted included the descriptive statistics, panel unit root test and co-integration test to investigate the background properties of the variables. Result findings were found to be robust to both specifications and manipulations. In general, firm’s characteristics were observed to have influenced financial performance of listed banks in Nigeria.
