Abstract
This project explores how mural motifs from a school wall painting can be used to improve office curtains at the School of Art, Design, and Printing. The study addresses the problem of old curtains and faded walls, which reduced the school’s aesthetic appeal and professional look. The main goal was to show how mural designs could be adapted into textile patterns for curtains. The specific aims were to identify and record mural motifs, convert them into textile designs, produce office curtains, and evaluate the effectiveness of the design transfer. The method involved documenting the mural motifs, creating digital designs, producing curtains using screen printing and sewing, and repainting the walls to complement the curtains. Feedback from students and staff was also collected. Findings showed that a bright and well-decorated environment improved student motivation, pride, and engagement. Using light yellow and dark brown on walls and curtains enhanced the school’s appearance and created a welcoming learning space.
