Microbial Quality and Safety of Corchorus Olitorius Consumed in Ikere-Ekiti

Abstract
Corchorus olitorius is an herbaceous plant and
belongs to Malvaceae family that grow in a terrestrial habitat. Corchorus olitorius is one of the vegetables mostly consumed in Ikere-Ekiti.
There is lack of information on Corchorus olitorius consumed in Ikere-Ekiti. This study aimed at assessing microbial safety, quality and health risk found in vegetables consumed in Ikere-Ekiti. Vegetables were collected across four locations in Ikere-Ekiti:farm, Oja Oba, Oke Ikere and Post office markets. Sample obtained from local market in Ikere Ekiti and what they posed significantly to health risks among consumers were assessed using cross sectional research method
