Injustice: a Radio Drama on Gender Inequality

Abstract

Acting exists beyond the confines of the theatre, as we often have the art expressed on the television, film and radio media. It is a connection that happens physically and emotionally as the actor takes the audience on a journey in search of a new and different experience. The actor is the conduit pipe that passes the message of the playwright to the audience. This study talked about gender inequality using the role of Uche in a radio drama ‘‘injustice’’ Findings reveals the relevance of a radio acting as that of stage and screen is to the audience, a platform of artistic interpretation. It also recommends that audio acting need to be taken more seriously as to encourage frequent participators for audio drama. Therefore, it concludes that audio acting is a platform of reaching to a more populated audience as medium of sensitizing the people.
