Abstract

ABSTRACT

This research was on the Budgeting and Students Savings Culture (A Case Study of Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic, Ikot Osurua). To accomplish the research objective, the study adopted the survey research design while the Taro Yamane Formula was used to select fifty (50) respondents as the sample size for the study. An instrument of the self-developed questionnaire and the forms were personally administered. Research questions and Hypotheses were formulated to guide the study and data were analyzed using the simple percentages and chi-square (x²) statistical tool. The study revealed that there are significant effects of operational plan on Students Savings Culture; that there are significant effects of forecasting on Students Savings Culture; that there are significant effects of expense outlook on Students Savings Culture and that there are significant effects of cash flow protection on Students Savings Culture. Hence, it was recommended that the management should be particularly interested in using estimated budget expenditure and recurrent/capital expenditure to know the financial strengths of the council to make a suitable creative action and budgeted analysis should be seen as a bench mark for the effective financial position and performance of the council but standard should be established for comparison.
